Nigeria’s renowned singer and music executive, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he voluntarily performed without payment at the reception dinner for Abia Governor, Alex Otti.
The revelation came through Davido’s official Twitter page, where he responded to curious fans on Monday night.
The Twitterverse was abuzz with excitement as one user highlighted that Davido is Dr. Alex Otti’s godson and was giving a full performance at the inauguration after-party in Umuahia, creating a remarkable spectacle.
Intrigued by the prospect, another Twitter user sought clarification, asking if Davido had performed for free.
In response, Davido confirmed that he did not receive any compensation for the performance, emphasizing his lifelong connection with Governor Otti.
He expressed his belief in Otti’s ability to deliver good governance to the people of Abia state.
He wrote;
“Not a dime. I’ve known Excellency all my life… and I’m sure he will do well for the people of Abia state.”
