Police Union Popcru is calling for more protection of officers following the killing of two officers at the Jabulani Hostel in Soweto. The union is proposing an Indaba to address police killings.
Popcru’s Richard Mamabolo said, “at the moment, it’s not quite clear what has transpired but what we can definitely say is that we have been seeing an interesting increase trend in police officers being killed not only in Soweto, as it happened last night but all across the country.
“Of course, this has been worrying because what we have picked up is that police are mainly attacked for their firearms which are then used to perpetrate crimes.
