President Muhammadu Buhari has called for lifting the blanket visa ban on Nigerians by the Government of the United Arab Emirates, UAE.
In a statement by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President, on Tuesday, Buhari made this call on Monday during a telephone conversation with the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The President requested his UAE counterpart to review the blanket visa ban placed on Nigerians intending to travel to the UAE.
Buhari assured the UAE of his commitment to guaranteeing seamless relationships between countries.
In the wake of 2022, Emirates Airlines suspended its operations in Nigeria over its inability to repatriate funds trapped in Nigeria.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya has directed all General Officers Commanding (GOCs) and other formation commanders of the Nigerian Army to ensure a conducive and secure atmosphere in their areas of responsibility for the successful conduct of the 2023 elections.
