USA records over 2100 COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours. The US has as of Saturday, April 11, 2020, 03:56 GMT recorded 502 876 cases and 18 747 deaths while 27 314 are said to have recovered. The United States has recorded over 2 100 coronavirus deaths in a single day, the highest daily fatality count of any country during the pandemic so far.

New York is the most affected city with 172 358 cases and 7 844 deaths. The USA has surpassed even China where the virus emerged in December last year.

In China, a total of 81 953 Coronavirus Cases and 3 339 Deaths were reported while those who recovered are 77 525 prompting the US to say China’s figures are fake.

The virus is rapidly spreading across the world and has so far has had a devastating impact on a number of Western countries including the USA, United Kingdom, Spain and Italy. Meanwhile, numbers continue to rise in Africa and particularly South Africa.
